Simple Faith

It is a world of duality. Any subject can be studied and made more complicated than it appears on the surface.

We live in a world of many systems and each simple system as it interacts with other simple systems can cause a simple result: moisture laden clouds running into mountains produce rain, or a complex result: floods.

I believe with no scientific example to back it up, just logic, that any complex problem can be broken into smaller simple pieces.

The gospel can be as simple as “good news”, or it can try and cover every possible outcome with an answer in someone’s life. In the gospel scriptures we see examples of solid families, troubled families, good intentions, bad intentions, peace makers and trouble makers. People who love, and people who hate. The cycle of pride, fall, humility, faith, and prosperity. When people start believing that the prosperity is about them, and not God, they fall.

When they believe their life unfolds only through their own hands and do not acknowledge the hand of providence, they fall.

Whether it’s learning the gospel line upon line and precept upon precept, or seeing the path your journey has taken: I believe that all learning starts with questions. The most valuable learning starts with the right questions.

Do you see intelligence in the universe?

Do you see intelligence in the world?

Do you believe you are discrete from every other living thing in the world, or are you a part of something bigger?

Do you believe in God?

Questions.

Answers worth finding.

about John:

I grew up in New England in an extremely sheltered life... in  a good way.

I loved music from an early age and ran to my new school the summer before my 6th grade year to tell the music teacher I was going to take choir and was ready to sing.

My parents had 78's of the Rodgers and Hammerstien great musicals, Oklahoma!, Carrocel, and South Pacific. My sister bought the original broadway album of west side story and I was hooked.
